Greek God Trading Cards
This is a set of trading cards featuring three gods of ancient Greek Mythology. The concept behind this piece was to take three gods and modernize them by giving them a palce in the modern world. In this sense, Hermes, the messenger god, is presented as a mailman. Ares, the god of war, is represented as a war general. Poseidon, the god of the sea, is represented as a ship captain.
The cover depicts the three gods coming together in an epic scene.
Hermes is shown as a mail carrier. The animal representing him is a carrier pigeon.
Ares is shown as a war general. The animal representing him is a dog ("Dog of War").
Poseidon is shown as a ship captain. The animal representing him is a horse. Poseidon is often depicted riding in a chariot of white horses.
